A word from the President….

Are You A Good Neighbor?

…”The second is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:28-31)

Jesus was summing up the law by saying if we love the Lord God with all our heart, soul and mind, loving our neighbor is the natural result. The question then is, who is our neighbor?

Each of us has something to offer to someone in need. We can check on our neighbors whether there is an emergency weather situation or just being led by the Holy Spirit to do so. Service to others brings meaning and fulfillment to our lives in a way that wealth, power, possessions, and self-centered pursuits can never match.

Who are our neighbors?

Do you know someone who is hurting in their soul? Try to help them with healing. Do you know someone who is hungry? Do what you can to feed them. Do you know someone who is outside of Christ and lost? Show them the saving message of salvation. A good way to remember who our neighbors are is to know who our Creator is. Every human being in need is our neighbor.

Wealth, power, and status count for nothing in the kingdom of God, but when we truly love our neighbors, we do our part to make this world a better place. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus!
